The Giving Bear
In 2019, KSA were commissioned to design an outdoor installation to help raise awareness of homelessness. Second year students pitched their ideas to a panel from Veolia, New West End Company and Westminster Council. The winning design "The Giving Bear" by Ellice Thatcher was then constructed and fabricated by a team of students from Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) from waste milk cartons supplied by Veolia and collected by the students locally.
The bear was installed with tap technology on 9th December in Mount Street Gardens for a month, and was the highest grossing collection point in Westminster.
